The word ultimate gets thrown around a lot when used in conjunction with kettlebells. Many trainers claim to have developed the best kettlebell workout. While many of these workouts are effective at building muscle or burning fat, which one reigns supreme is a matter of opinion. Well, until now!
Fitness model and coach Michie Peachie shared a video of her kettlebell workout that hits all the muscle groups. While it’s not as intense as some of the other workouts we’ve seen, the slow pacing aims to build strength and endurance. Nothing too exotic as far as the exercises that are shown which makes it great for a beginner or advanced kettlebell user.
The first part of this kettlebell workout consists of 3 kettlebell exercises: The goblet squat, deadlift, and lunge. What makes this interesting is the fact that the kettlebell is held in the upright position the whole time. There are no flips, swings or rotating of any sort. Watching it in motion the emphasis is on movement on the vertical and horizontal planes.
Health and fitness coach Marcus Filly is joined by Senior Kettlebell Coach Eric Leija for a brief but an intense kettlebell workout. Eric is well-known for his kettlebell flow workouts, however, this one might be the most impressive of all.
The great thing about the wide variety and amount of kettlebell exercises is that you can create your own custom workout. We’ve done exactly that with our Gut Busting Kettlebell Workout. It consists of just 5 exercises! That’s easy enough to keep track of and remember how many sets have been done as you progress through this workout.
I discovered this kettlebell workout from carrotsncake.com on Pinterest which they call the Kettlebell Pyramid. It is simple in design and only uses 3 kettlebell exercises. The challenging part is the increasing amount of reps of two of these exercises as you progress to the mid-point of the workout.
Kettlebell exercises are pretty effective on their own. When you first start using kettlebells it is important to have proper form and movement. Once the basics have been mastered, you can then chain these exercises together to give your body a punishing but rewarding workout. This is essentially what kettlebell flow is.
If you take a look at the order of these exercises, you’ll notice that there is a method to their arrangement. The kettlebell swing and high pull are great overall cardio exercises. Standing in the upright position, they’ll make effective use of your core muscles and set the tone of the workout.
Touted as the ultimate kettlebell workout by GQ Magazine UK, it combines two simple exercises and for a powerful workout session. While we don’t necessarily agree with it being called ultimate, it is pretty effective none-the-less.
I discovered this challenging kettlebell workout several days ago. I’ve tried searching desperately to give the author proper credit but can’t seem to find the link anymore. It incorporates the popular Russian Kettlebell Swing along with the traditional push-up. What you’ll be doing is performing sets of each and alternating between them. It’s a simple but almost punishing workout depending on how far you want to take it.
