News From Greatist.com

“Sure, you might know him from Season 11 of The Bachelorette, but Shawn Booth is a whole lot more than just an (admittedly very attractive) reality TV star. He’s also a certified personal trainer and an Ironman finisher, and he just launched a gym in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee (called Boothcamp—get it?). In fact, Booth was a trainer before winning hearts on national television, so don’t let his romantic side fool you—he’s legit.

“There are a lot of bachelorette parties that come to the gym in Nashville,” Booth says. “They walk in thinking it’s going to be an easy, fun thing, and they get their butts kicked. Some girls come in with roses, and I’m like ‘Yeah, you’re going to have to trade those for dumbbells.'””

Kettlebell Krusher’s Take:

If you’re thinking about joining Shawn’s gym, be prepared to open your checkbook. According to the website, new members get a 30-day introductory charge of $105 which then becomes $215 monthly. Although that is a fair amount of money, you’ll certainly have access to the best equipment and personal trainers that are dedicated to their clients.

The above photo appears to show Shawn performing a reverse lunge. However, it’s a little bit different from the norm as his right leg is elevated on a BOSU ball. It seems that he really likes to take standard exercises and give them an extra twist. This is also apparent in the above-referenced article that shows him doing staggered push-ups.

A New Gym for a New Era of Fitness

Although the Boothcamp gym doesn’t focus exclusively on kettlebell workouts, it does feature some of the latest equipment in fitness trends. Take for instance the Battle Ropes, which are popular for HIIT workouts. This unique exercise almost resembles a carriage driver holding reins on fast-moving horses. The quick action of whipping ropes up and down in each hand is an excellent way to burn fat. It’s exercises like these that remove the decades-old stereotype of equating gyms with lifting weights.

While many of Shawn’s nearly 900k followers on Instagram are clamoring for him to be the next bachelor, he looks perfectly content at being a personal trainer. We get the sense that he truly wants to help each and every one of his clients. The website further claims that all fitness levels are welcomed. So if you want to get in shape at this unique Nashville gym, all that is required is the membership fees!
