How I Lost 18 Pounds During My 30-Day Weight Loss Challenge

I had a lot going on personally during this challenge. There's never really an opportunity where there's a lull in my life for 30 days. Holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions are a common occurrence and I knew that they would factor in during this time. It doesn't make sense to wait for the best opportunity and say, "Hey, this month looks pretty clear on the schedule." Even if that's true, something stressful is bound to happen. When it does, it's easy to give yourself an excuse to be bad and order or dine out.

30-Day Challenge – Can I Lose 20 Pounds in a Month?

It seems like challenges such as these are almost always preceded by a period of bad eating and weight gain. Late last year I decided to try a 5-day challenge. This was in response to the 10 days I spent in the Bahamas during my honeymoon. Needless to say, my eating habits were pretty damn awful.

5-Day 10-pound Weight Loss Challenge – Day 5

The last day has finally arrived! The typical schedule was re-arranged. Instead of doing my kettlebell workout in the morning, I decided to do it in the afternoon. This was partly due to maximizing my time working but also to go back to the normal routine that has worked for me since I started losing weight in the early months of 2018.

It's the halfway point of the 5-day challenge. The week is flying by! I'm a little bummed and perplexed about the morning weigh-in. I didn't expect another massive drop in weight like the day before, but I was surprised by the results.

5-Day 10-pound Weight Loss Challenge – Day 2

Day 2 of this 5-day challenge saw a nice decrease in weight from the previous day. The fasting remains the most difficult part of the challenge. Exercising and maintaining a diet seem easy in comparison. However, I feel myself starting to get hungry in the mornings. Between the hours of 12 pm and 2 pm seem to drag on as my stomach is begging for some food.

5-Day 10-pound Weight Loss Challenge – Day 1

After spending 10 days in the Bahamas with my wife, I returned home some 10 pounds heavier than when I left. Other than walking and swimming, no exercise was done. The Paleo diet I was on was put on pause and a lot of fatty foods were consumed. I feel extremely guilty and because of this, I'm attempting to lose those 10 pounds in just 5 days.
