Kettlebell Seated Figure 8
Depending on the size kettlebell you use, the kettlebell seated figure 8 can either be very challenging or quite easy. Because of this, both a beginner or an expert can benefit when performing this kettlebell exercise. It is an excellent workout for your core muscle group.
To begin this exercise, sit down with your knees slightly bent and feet off the ground. As the name suggests you will pass the bell over and under between your legs in a figure 8. A rep is completed upon the bell returning to the start position. A typical set should consist of 14 reps.
You’ll notice a huge difference when using a 10-pound kettlebell versus a 25-pound kettlebell. It is a great way to increase arm strength. Holding your legs in the air is great for those muscles too. You’ll probably also feel some exertion in your abs while performing this exercise.
If you desire to do multiple sets of the kettlebell seated figure 8, a good tactic is to reverse direction after completing a set. Alternating directions between sets might be more difficult depending on your dexterity.
This exercise is part of the Stack 52 kettlebell exercise playing card deck which is available here.
