Sam Escobar, also known by his online handle gorillagirevik, is quickly becoming one of the most impressive kettlebell strength trainers there is. Scrolling through his Instagram posts, it’s fascinating to see how his hard work with heavy kettlebells has transformed his body over the months and years. A lover of maces and kettlebells, his persona and physique would fit perfectly in Game of Thrones or other medieval movies and TV shows.

In one of his recent Instagram videos, we see him run through a series of kettlebell exercises dubbed The KB Royal Flush. First, he begins by swinging a 202 lb. kettlebell for 5 reps. Next, he moves on to another 5 reps of goblet squats with a 176 lb. kettlebell. Finally, he finishes with 5 crush presses with a 150 lb kettlebell. It’s this last exercise that is truly amazing. To have the ability to push such a heavy weight over your head is one thing. However, it’s hard to ignore the risk involved if he were to lose grip and have the kettlebell come crashing down. That takes a lot of guts in my opinion.

Sam Takes His Training to the Next Level

Already holding an SFG Level 2 certificate, it appears that he will participate in a Kettlebell Kings certification program in the near future. This program spans 2 days and is taught by expert kettlebell trainer Marcus Martinez. Marcus has quite the following of his own on Instagram (over 100k!) and for good reason. His movements and variations of common kettlebell exercises are very unique. There’s a lot of twisting and rotating that he integrates into his workouts that you won’t see anywhere else.

If you’re interested in getting certified as well, head over to living.fit to view upcoming certifications as well as gain access to free workouts. It contains one of the largest databases of kettlebell movement videos and workouts and costs absolutely nothing. Ask expert trainers questions, interact with other community members and more. You’ve got nothing to lose!
